if your car idles like a diesel. It should be very smooth and almost vibrationless and no vibration felt in the steering wheel. You will be able to feel the engine running but that is about all and I am assuming you have the I-4 engine. Depending on how your wife drives and duration of trips and frequency will determinge when you change the oil and filter. If you use the recomnmended full synthetic oil and the car gets long frequent trips then the SAAB recommended change intervals will be sufficient for an 06 model. If your trips are short and the car does not have an opportunity to be well exercised and heated then cut the time between changes in half or thirds. Saab improved the PCV vent system in 2003 to eliminate the sludging from poor owner practices and lack of understanding of the manual. Since that time the recommended intervals for well exercised cars has proven to be sufficient. If you follow the book on maintenance the SAAB is very straight forward and reliable. You have a fine car but changing out the radio is sort of specific to the specialist shops. Since the radio is tied into the computer, I don't know what may be involved.
