The bike has low to mid grade components so it is not the most desirable mountain bike per se', but would be worth something for it's collector value.
I was riding one of our local trails last summer, in a difficult uphill section, stopped and was gasping for breath when a guy on a Gary Fisher / Saab mountain bike went by fast, and before I could say "wait, let me see that bike" he was gone. I'm not sure what the bike is really worth as a bike (due to the mid grade components) but I think you could sell it. One was on the bay of the E last year and didn't sell, but I think the seller had too high of a reserve set on it.
My wife would kill me...the same way as if another bike showed up as if another Saab showed up in the garage. Then again, you never know....
Crazy mountain biking people like me ride $3,000 bikes, so you never know. I'd give it a shot selling it. If you post it somewhere, let me know!
