the one I have is an Actron CP145 and I bought it at Pep Boys. I think it was 160.00.
I just looked on eBay and there are a ton of scanners. Lots of Actrons and others. Most are under $100.
I have found mine to be really valuable. Our Ford 350 van threw a CEL and I did not want to bring it to a dealer and my truck guy is not into electronics. I put this scanner on it. Error code was something (according to the internet) that the Ford V-10 does occasionally. I cleared the code and it has not come back in 2 years!
On our 95 Aero there have been numerous times that this scanner has been great. I had the Thermostat replaced and on the way home got a CEL. Checked it out and the WIS led me to a vacuum line that the indy mechanic had not replaced. this is just one of a few times I have used in on the 95.
Well worth having one in your tool selection. You can get them now that only read and clear codes and they are like under $50.00 I don't have one, but if you can read and clear codes that is a great deal. Especially when it cost 80-100 per hour for a shop to do it.
