M1 0w-40 vs 5w-50 Posted by bender [Email] (#268) [Profile/Gallery] (more from bender) on Sun, 25 May 2008 19:38:02 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I just got 0w-40 for my next oil change, and also just saw that M1 5w-50 meets the A3/B3 specs as well. I only drive my car during the summer time, never winter...so would the latter be a better choice? My car isn't driven aggressively at all, if that makes a difference...am I good with 0w-40, or is thicker better for these cars? I've also heard it might affect my MPG...Book also doesn't say anything about a xW-50 weight. Let me know what you think...although I have a pretty good feeling with 0w-40, seems people have had good results with it. Thanks!!
