The shims are not too bad to install really, but you WILL need a complete alignment after you do anything to affect the ride height or install the shims. Inner wear and cupping can be caused by other things than just bad camber.

For ride height - I can't remember the exact measurement, I just made the measurement, jacked up the rear til it looked good, then measured again and made spring spacers to make up the 1cm difference.

I had no trouble with low rear ride height until I installed the Aero springs in the sport chassis kit.

You can measure your rear camber with a level, machinist ruler, and some trigonometry. Exactly how I will leave as an interesting exercise for the student.

There are two secrets to the shim install -

1) Rather than tracking down the wierd semi-deep flex sockets Saab asks for, just remove the bolt from the upper control arm at the hub and swing the arm out of the way. Then you have easy access to the rear of the hub.
2) There are 6 (six) nuts holding the hub (at least on my '01). You remove the two nuts holding the brake line bracket, move the bracket out of the way, then loosen the four nuts that are now visible.
