You might wanna' use a surgical glove or something thin, but rub your hand over the tire tread, especially to the inside, and it should feel smooth. You can't trust your eyes for this. It if feels less than smooth it's likely tires.
It's always so difficult to really see tires with the car on the ground. They always look much worse and the thin and uneven spots are always much easier to spot with the car up in the air where you can look at the underside clearly.
Tires vs wheel bearings, tires almost always wins the cause of the noise wars.
