(1) Can anyone assist in level of DIY for gear selector cable. Actually, can see my trouble (loose shifter for AT) is the connector ball right at the lever on top of the AT case. it is completely loose. I can lift it off and on. luckily, it stays in place enough to shift gears for now. getting to it from the engine comp seems easy enough. what about from the interior side???
(2) can I just replace this part? or do I have to replace the entire cable system all the way to the shifter in the cabin? looks like it would just pop or screw off the cable link assembly some how.
(3) anyone ever just try some fix? cant JBweld it b/c it needs to rotate as the lever changes gears. seem slike just needs a used part poped in somehow from the cable assembly.
BTW, mine looks like a cable system inside a sleeve. the ball attachment attaches from the top to the AT lever. the diagram on saabsite website looks like it attaches from undernearth the arm. or I have the diagram reversed. either way, the diagram shows attachment from bottom or side (depending upon which end is which in the diagram).
THANKS!! would likt to DIY as it is drivable and I appear to have time (and carpool buddies).
