Glad all went well with your cooler swap. I just finished mine yesterday. I ordered mine online from thesabbsite.com. I had issues with their service but eventually got the parts I needed (sort of). I payed for second day delivery but they neglected to tell me that half of my order was not in stock and would take almost a week longer to get. Atleast the oil filter and coolant were on time! Not even a call or E-mail. Then when I got the cooler It was to a catera! I, like you, wanted aluminum. On thesaabsite.com, it states that their oil cooler is "OEM". I failed to notice the note lower on the page that stated "NOTE: The coolers we sell here are a upgraded version of the original Saab cooler. Heavier and more durable. It looks a little different but works better and should last much longer than the original one." Works better? Id love to see their research that proved steel cools better than aluminum. So they sell you an "OEM" cooler for OEM price ($400) but then throw in the line about it being an "upgraded version" when in reality it is a downgrade. If I wanted a Catera cooler I could have picked one up for just over $200 at my local dealer. So when I call customer service and tell them about my issues, They promise to call me back in just a few minutes. Several days later and still no word. Anyways, I couldnt be without my car any longer so I used the Catera cooler. I hope it works well enough. One more gripe. The special adhesive they sent me was expired! I used it anyways and so far no leaks.
