How to remove cam-driven vacuum pump?

Hi Folks,
The cleaning is progressing with my head gasket replacement job on my 2000 Aero. As per suggestions here, I will strip the head down, remove the valves and get it skimmed and probably new valve guide seals installed.
But I'm having trouble working out how to remove the vacuum pump from the end of the exhaust camshaft. Not many of the 9-5's have it I think, and it's not mentioned in either the WIS that I have, nor the Haynes manual.
There are three bolts, one of them some kind of special banjo bolt that holds oil too. I removed all of them, and the pump will wiggle around a bit, but not come free.
There are two tamper-proof torx screwsholding on a sort of cap at the end of the head, but in spite of the fact I specially bought a comprehensive torx kit for this job, I don't have the tamper proof type. Do I need to remove this bridge/cap at the end of the exhaust camshaft?
The whole setup seems dumb.
TIA
Steve
