Shoulda happened last Friday. (the 13th)
Are you confident the problem was only the jangly noise? -- i.e., the car was under control, brakes worked, steered properly, you're not losing any fluids ...
If you're good on those questions, I'd say the situation is no more likely to worsen than, say, losing an exhaust bracket. Noisy and bothersome, sure, but not an immediate danger. In fact, you may not be in any worse shape than many of the other cars you're sharing the road with. Now there's a scary thought.
It sounds like the repair doesn't necessarily require a Saab certified techy, so Joe's Garage might take a look at it to assure you if the problem will/won't get worse with 100 miles of driving. But from here, with me sitting in the comfort of my computer room, cup of tea and a couple of chocolate chip cookies in hand, I think you're good to go. Slowly, though.
Heckuva thing to happen.
