I thought that I would post a follow up on this issue. For some reason, low tank, high altitude, etc. the car threw some CELs as noted before and put it's self in limp mode. If this happens on an I4 and you can really tell the difference, but on the V6 there is not that much different in performance, etc. So here are the symptoms that you are in limp mode for a v6.
1) Some CELs will be thrown, if you have TCS it will be disabled and you will not be able to cruise
2) Once you clear the CELs, they will come back if you are in limp mode.
3) You have to clear the CELs, then reset the limp mode
You can follow in instructions on the site, but what I have found is for the I4, the V6 is slightly different.
1) Remove the V6 engine cover. The torx screws were VERY tight on mine. I see that a previous dealer mechanic broke the mount to the engine on one. Spray with PB blaster to help out
2) Turn on the ignition, do not start
3) Hook up a device to clear the codes. Or you can disconnect the battery for about a minute and reset the other stuff. See the board for other options
4) Turn ignition off.
5) There is no 5, there is no cover on over the spring as on the I4.
6) When you move the throttle lever, you will notice that the throttle bar will also move, this means you are in limp mode (which means the foot pedal is directly connected to the throttle)
7) There are two ends to the return spring sticking straight up. You will notice the end that to the outside of the engine is behind some plastic stops. Carefully move the end of the spring to the center of the engine and move it to the front of the car past the stops.
8) Move the "gearish" plastic circle that is close the throttle body clock wise until it clicks / stops.
9) Verify that you are not in limp mode by moving the cabled throttle and the throttle bar will not move with it. Now it is computer controlled as it should be.
Now run the car. If the codes do not come back it was some sort of one off issue that it seems I had with a low tank / uphill in high altitude.
