Today, as I was preparing to go on a long trip, my son is driving me and he doesn't exactly fit a SAAB, 6'3" and 350 pounds. I am taking my pair of sheepdogs requiring the seats be lowered in my Aero Combi. With the seats down, he could not get into the car to drive. In the 9000, the bolts could be removed and the seat bottoms lifted out. Not so in the 9-5. The dealer said it couldn't be done. Figuring that SAAB was the kind of car company that thinks about everything, I found a little red clip for which I could see no use, so I removed it, SHAZAM- the seat came right out. I don't know if the sedans are the same But I would think so. so fellows SAAB solved a problem and made it very easy. Just pull the red clip disconnect the seat heaters and pull the seat a little towards the door and they lift right out. There is nothing in my ownwers manual about that or at least I didn't find it. Without the seat bottom, there is quite a bit of additional "Junk room" behind the front seats. Just thought I would pass this along good SAABin and have a great fourth.
Be sure to think about why this is such a great holiday and how wise our founders were. TOO BAD WE DON'T HAVE SUCH MEN TODAY.
