The whole reason I got my car was because the IDM pooped out on the highway for the previous owner. He drove it to the next exit on three cylinders which was enough to ruin the converter. The dealer gave him an outrageous price to replace the cat so he sold it to me cheap. The recall came out literally the week I bought the car and I got it done for free. I guess I'm trying to say that it doesn't take long to mess up the cat. But hey, you haven't confirmed it's a DIC yet so don't get too scared. Just remember next time your car is acting funny and the CEL is FLASHING that the first thing you should always do is reach for the key and shut it off, if you're in a safe place to roll into a shoulder that is. It will save you mucho dinero when it comes time to fix the problem. Keep us updated please.
