I got one out of an Aero on eBay for $45 shipped. It's in great shape and I really love the thicker thumb/palm rests at 10 and 2. I looked around at new ones on some site sponsors, and saw that they had different part numbers for 99-01 and 02-05, so I don't know what's up with that. The paddle shifters are just on the backs of the radio buttons which are attached the airbag module. They wouldn't necessitate a redesign of the steering wheel.
If/when you do end up getting one it's a very easy DIY install. There are two plastic screw covers on the back of the steering wheel. They pop off to expose the airbag screws. Unscrew them (they're on springs and don't come out all the way), and lift the airbag module outward. Unplug the connectors carefully and put the airbag somewhere safe, and away from you with the black part facing UP. I think it's a 22mm hex nut thing in the middle of the wheel. Crack that and back it off just a little. Rock the steering wheel back and forth to loosen it from the pressure fit. Then remove the 22mm nut. CAREFULLY and SLOWLY lift the wheel off the rack and feed the clockspring wire through the steering wheel. Fit in reverse order. The reason not to remove the nut right away is because the wheel can come loose from the pressure fit quickly, and people have ripped their $150 clock spring out. Now that I just typed this up I remember Dmitry Platonoff has this all written out with photos on his site. Oops. Good luck.
