You probably missed a couple of posts ;o)
Both yes and know. A plain cut key will open the door in case you have locked your real key inside the car.
It will not start the engine.
To start the engine you have to have a key with a micro chip inside that is also coded to you cars anti theft system (TWICE). That can only be done using the Tech 2 scanner.
My advice is that if you at this point only have one key that starts the car, get a second key as soon as possible and have it coded to your car. If not, it might cost you a lot of money and hassle if you loose this last key.
