Jan,
If you have a source for replacement motors, could you let saabers here know where to get it.
The blower motor comes from the dealer with the cage attached for about $300 new. However there is a way of getting replacement brushes ( ususally the part that wears out). These can be sourced for about $20.
However they are slightly oversized in one side so needs to be grounds down slightly. Here is a photo with the listing from http://www.mcmaster.com/ part number 65705K38

Some notes copied over from another posting.
Brush info:
"Stumbled over a new source for suitable replacement brushes.
They are oversize in one dimension, but are easily sanded/filed to correct size.
Correct size is .312 x .355 x 1.00 inch, they are .312 x .500 x 1.00
E-Bay #320137622477 (disregard as this is an old sale)
E17 BRUSHES-PORTER CABLE 7518 7519 7538 7539 ROUTERS"
"Proper size brushes can be had from Mc Master-Carr. com Part #65705K38.
They are the right thickness (5/16") and wider than necessary. They can be filed or sanded to the right width (.355 inch) and length. Cost less than $20."
Here is a link to a great tutorial as to how to repair the motor.

Hope this helps
