This is a 2002 AERO. When you unhook the first section of exhaust at the turbo, you can't pull the thing clear of the three mounting bolts because as you pull it away it hits... is this the transaxle? Anyway it seems like you have to twist the exhaust section to get it to go past the three mounting bolts. I can't twist it right now. I was trying to remove just the down-pipe, ie this first part of the exhaust system, but unfortunately I cant get the nuts on the other end free. The three nuts on the engine end came off fine, but the two nuts at the other end meeting the intermediate pipe were frozen and ruined. So I am a little bit stuck. I wonder if I could take the whole exhaust out at once to work on it? I think I will not be able to get the entire exhaust out as one unit because I cannot clear those three bolts at the engine end. I am asking before I try it as a unit because god knows when we pull out a rusty old exhaust we probaly ruin everything. It's on stands not a lift. I don't want to try if it is impossible. thanks in advance.
