2002 9-5 Aero
Car drove fine the day before, however I have been having a power "drop" with heavy acceleration. It had strong accelaration, but when it neared the redline, it would lose power (not power cut-off after entering the redline). Kind of felt like the engine got "tired" and stopped pushing as hard. This was probably happening for about a month, but it didn't happen all the time so I wasn't too concerned about it.
Yesterday when I started the car up to go to work, it rev'ed up and down and stalled. I disconnected the MAF and it ran fine (even able to drive it around with no problems). I replaced the MAF, but now it is acting the same... revvs up and down at idle until stalling. I unplugged the new MAF again and it runs fine...
Before I waste any more money on parts, any help would be appreciated.
I have searched the threads, and found a lot of info about MAFs and Throttle body replacement... but I don't think I have found any symptoms identical to mine. Does my car have a throttle position sensor? I searched advance auto, but they don't have that part listed for my vehicle.
Some thoughts I had: Maybe the new MAF is faulty as well? Is the car in limp mode and needs to be reset?
Thank You!!
