I have the light buls with the soldered bases, and what I did was take a small screw driver (the kind you use for glasses) and pry off the soldering from the metal tabs that you see. The solder actually comes off very easily and very neatly. You then use those radio shack bulbs and put them on the base. Bend the connector wires on the new bulbs outwards and lock them in place with the old tabs that have been de-solderized. I did this for all my heater switch bulbs and also the console lock switch. They have been working great!

PS
When I replaced all these bulbs, I noticed that the rear heated switch button magically began to light up again!! How neat!
