Feedback on Koni shocks (rear)

So it turns out that a warranty repair from Koni takes two weeks from the day you send it in. It took a few days before that to request an RMA, and I had to pay to ship it to them in Kentucky. Re-fitting my Koni sport shocks to the rear, I compared the original Koni shock I still had to the "new" warranty-replaced one... having minimal experience in suspension, I can't really say all that much, but each did have a different feel to it. The original shock seemed to have a bit more slop in it? By which I mean, if I held each one up by one end, the original one would sink an inch or so lower than the warranty one. The warranty shock was incredibly hard to adjust compared to my original shock. Playing around with them, it really did seem like they dampened a little differently, whether they were both on full-soft or -hard or somewhere in between.
I've also decided that I'm not fully convinced I should have twin-tube hydraulic shocks when OEM use monotube gas shocks. I really don't notice much difference in ride quality between the Aero shocks and the Koni sport shocks. In the end, I think the factory Aero setup is plenty good enough and I should've stuck with that and spent my $250 on, oh, I don't know, how about a month's worth of gas!?!
-Chris
(btw, I'm really not sure how I feel about spending more money on gas than on food & groceries! I love my car, but it eats more than me?!?)
