My '01 sportwagon had to go through new shocks (Bilsteins), shims, bushings, and new springs before the rear end worked like it was supposed to work. I'm not sure what ultimately made the most difference in the rear end, but finally at 95K I have car that works the way it should. At your mileage, I'd be looking at replacing the springs too.
