My advice? Keep the tire pressure even front to rear and as high as your butt can stand. I run 40 psi in my '00 9-5 Aero sedan and 38 psi in my '03 9-3 convertible. Increasing the tire pressure, with modern steel belted radial tires, gives better handling, longer tire life and better fuel mileage. It however does detract from ride quality. So what I do is stop when the ride gets too rough for my tastes.
Note: Auto manufacturers use different tire pressures front to rear to fine tune the handling, not because one end is heavier than the other. More tire pressure in the front decreases under steer, more in the rear decreases over steer. So if you feel the car is plowing through turns, increase the front pressure and/or decrease the rear pressure. If you feel like the rear end is coming loose on turns, increase the rear pressure and/or decrease the front pressure.
