One of my concerns.... Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 6 Sep 2008 13:50:49 In Reply to: FWIW and FYI. ABS rebuild, SWEDECAR [Profile/Gallery] , Fri, 5 Sep 2008 20:30:15 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
Although I had taken my 9-5 to a local Dealer to diagnose my ABS symptoms, and pulled codes to verify the problem was failed communication between ABS and ECU before having a rebuild performed on the ABS controller, I still find myself holding my breath at each engine start until the brake system warning lights all turn off.
The tales of ABS rebuilding are eerily similar to the tales of Theft Alarm Siren battery replacement - and that turned out to be a bust!
The cost of a new ABS module is nearly equal to the market value of my 2000 9-5. I saved all the bba_reman documentation (lifetime warranty) just in case the rebuild is not permanent.
