Mobil 1 0W-40 Stopped Startup Smoke

I just thought I'd post an observation now that I'm into my second oil change with M1 0W-40.
My 9-5 Linear has about 118000 miles on it; I bought it in early 2007 when it had 98000. I was getting my oil changes done at a local shop that used Pennzoil Synthetic 5W-30 and starting at about 2500 miles after the change, I was getting the "puff-o-smoke" at startup in the morning.
My first reaction to resolving the issue was to do the latest PCV fix to see if that would have an effect due to changes in crankcase pressure. I still had about 1000 miles on my oil to go, so I did the PCV mod and ran the car on the oil that was in there. I was still getting smoke in the morning (i.e., no change).
I did the next oil change myself and used Mobil 1 0W-40. After changing to this oil, the smoke problem vanished. The car just went its first 5000 miles on the M1 with no smoking whatsoever and virtually no oil consumption. I understand that the M1 is A3/B3 rated, whereas the Pennzoil is not. I'm usually not a big believer in changes ascribed to changes in oil brands but in this case, I have to be a believer.
BTW, fuel economy is about the same with either. The PCV fix also eliminated the condensation I saw on the dipstick.
