ABS module from a 1999 4cyl into a 1999 6cyl?

I have a 1999 SAAB 9-5 v6 wagon and (2) 1999 4cyl sedans. One has fallen victim to the sludge and is only a parts car. I found out today that the v6 wagon needs a ABS module according to the dealer. $2,600 is out of the question, and I would love to not have to spend the $150 or so either. Will the ABS module from the 4cyl swap into the v6? The dealer said it would if the the 4cyl had traction control, but it doesn't. I was wondering if there would be an harm in trying it, or if the connections or anything would be completely different, or if would cause the car to instantly self destruct. The parts car is in Eastern Michigan at the family farm, and I live in Chicago, so I can't compare the modules until next weekend. I don't mind losing the traction control as long as the ABS will work, and the dash lights will turn off. At the same time if there would be a significant risk of damaging another part of the car I don't want to do it.
