'04 Aero Test Drive - CHIME sounded, no SID message...

Hello everyone,
I test drove an '04 9-5 Aero, manual trans. this week, with 38k miles. The car kept making a chiming noise, at first at a red light, after I had held the clutch in for a little while. It did it again in a high g-force curve, and finally did it again when the car was idling after the test drive. Car drove like a charm, no knocking, pulled strongly, brakes performed great. What could this be? No SID message or dashboard light either. Could it be the license plate dangling over the back-up sensors? I wouldn't think so, especially that I didn't put it into reverse, but I really don't have a clue. P-brake was definitely not on either. It is no longer under warranty and is being sold by a wholesaler, carfax confirms it is just off lease, but maintenance records aren't available. Price seems relatively attractive, at just under $13k. What are your thoughts? The chime didn't sound like anything my '00 9-5 Aero makes, but then again, even the turn signal tic-toc is different, so who knows!?!
Thanks for your advice and input!
Rick
