It wasn't very difficult. Moderate, I would say.
I hit a few bumps along the way, the biggest being the removal of the old bushing.
Special tools: A gear puller, chisel (I used an old wood chisel), and hacksaw were the only special tools. The rest were typical socket and regular wrenches, hammer/mallet and torque wrench. The most challenging bolt was the one hold the bottom of the shock, which requires 140 ft lbs to tighten.
The first side was the learning side (~2.5 hrs) and then the other went faster (~1 hr).
I drove the front of the car on ramps and then jacked the rear onto stands for some added clearance.
For difficulty reference, I think brakes are easier to replace and the rear engine mount (firewall) much more difficult.
