1999 Saab 9-5 Battery Problem

I've owned my 1999 Saab 9-5 since around 2002 when it had around 44,000 miles. In the time I've owned it, I've had to replace the battery pretty much every two years. Makes me think that there may be a problem in the electrical system that may be pulling too much power from the battery. Has anyone else had this problem? Any idea of what the fix might be? I've got it in the shop getting looked at, but don't want to get taken for a ride.
Thanks,
Tom
