I swapped out my stock 1999 suspension for a used stock Aero 2001 spring and shock set. I've since replaced the worn out rear shocks with the Bilstein HD, since the spring change was not really as radical as a lowered Eibach setup. I intend to replace the front McPherson struts (shocks) with Bilstein HD's as well. Having wrestled with the corroded rear shocks, (see Platanoff's excellent directions...) replacing the front springs was about equal, even when taking into consideration dismantling the front supension/steering assemblies. You absolutely need a sturdy spring compressor tool set for this (threaded rods with hooks to grab upper and lower spring coils and compress them for removal from the strut. I paid the deposit rental fee of $35(?) at Advance Auto, and ended up just owning them, as the purchase price was the same. The set was brand new.
I should also consider getting the fatter front and rear Aero sway bar set.
Best of luck!
