I have a bias for Michelin tires, and like you I live in NJ.
Both my wife's 2004 9-5 ARC and my 2007 9-5 Aero use Michelin A/S Exalto's. Tire Rack still rank's this tire as No. 1 in the High Performance All Season category. Over the past several years I've used a few sets of these tires and have been satisfied with the results.
These tires work fine in the NJ snow 95% of the time. However, I do use dedicated snow tires during the winter on both cars because of the extensive driving (50K miles/year) I used to do, including regular trips to Massachusetts. For the winter, I'm using Michelin Pilot Alpine PE2's.
In conclusion, I would absolutely recommend the Michelin Exalto A/S tires for year-round use in NJ.
