it's amazing how big of a mess it can make! you will likely be finding glass for a long time! but you really need to get it vacummed as best you can, you should be able to suck the glass out of the door, but you will need to remove the window seals from the track, glass will be stuck in their, take your time and continue to shake the door, vac it out etc... I just did one and it took 3 or 4 times removeing the glass before I finally got it to go up and down with no grinding! my problem was glass stuck in the seal,i finaly removed the seal and was again supprized how much more glass I found! I would recomend sliding the glass up and down in the track without the motor first to verify the track is clear, then work the motor with the glass removed then install the glass! As for the Membrane I assume you are talking about the piece of plastic which seals the door don't worry about it, just get some plastic and tape it on,or just use packing tape to repair the current membrane or garbage bag if nothing else, it is really only their to keep moisture out of the door panel
