I've always heard them called "Chimsels", an attempt at coining a word from the CHMSL acronym. Center High Mounted Stop Lamp.
Likewise, all automatic equiped cars have a "Prindel", I even worked with a guy who had a patent for a specific way of making one. A "Prindel" is an invented word for the acronym PRNDL; Park, Reverse, Neutral, Drive, Low.
