Well, the rear shocks are horrible. On my '01 LPT wagon, the originals were toast by 80k km. I replaced them with Aero units as part of the Saab Sport Chassis ('01 Aero spec); I lived with those a year (20k km) before I trashed them - way too soft. Replaced them with KYBs that are now up to 170k km; they are very stock-like but have more gas pressure and are a little stiffer. Next set will be Bilstein or Koni, I'm through messing around with this.
If the OP wants stock height on his Aero, then stock Aero springs are the only way to go. I'd be surprised if the springs are shot. I would not use stock Sachs shocks. The Konis (Sport, not FST) have an adjustable spring perch that could help with ride height.
