The copper NGK BCPR6ES plugs will last....it's how you effectively manage them.
My experience is to regap the copper plugs after 15,000 miles, and replace them at 30,000. ($8 bucks for a set of 4). I go with a tighter gap....0.035"
This has worked well for me on my former 2002 AERO, and presently on my 2001 LPT wagon ( now with ~ 142,000 miles).
My local dealership has installed copper plugs on 9-3 Viggens, under the same advisement.
The SAAB master maechanic at my dealership seems to feel the vehicle starts and performs better with the copper.
But as the previous poster indicates...if you PAY a mechanic to perform the installation of your spark plugs...the platinums are the more cost effective.
