Steve Goldberger, who occasionally frequents this forum, makes an annual migration from OH to FL and back towing his 9-3SS CVT with his '02 9-5 Aero Wagon on a dolly. Has been doing this twice a year since he bought the Aero - the 9-3SS replaced a OG9-3CVT. No problems at all. That's what, 5000 miles of towing a year? And to top it off, BOTH cars are packed to the gun'als, including a big roof-top box. I don't get where this OMG you MUST have a truck to tow anything heavier than a bicycle attitude comes from. The trick is take it easy and plan ahead. Go SLOW, even with a braked dolly. You will have no trouble at all towing a 9000 80 miles with a 9-5.
I personally will be towing a Sonett from CT to ME tomorrow with a 9-5 Aero. My Sonett, but not my Aero. :-)
