I grew up on a car with no ABS and no TCS. Then I got ABS and didn't like it on snow at all. Now I have both.
I don't drive my current saab in the winter, but I have had it on a few icy, or snowy days (before salt goes on the road). Here's my take on the systems:
ABS - great on dry or wet pavement. Downright scary on snow packed roads. I'd just assume be able to lock up the brakes if I want to. I hate pushing the pedal and having it try to NOT stop me.
TCS - on ice or wet roads I like it. I also like being able to turn it off. Sometimes that wheel spin is the only thing getting you up a hill. If I couldn't turn TCS off I'd be stuck. On dry pavement it's just like Mike says, a too much fun light. Maybe it adds life to my tires though.
