Cadillac SRX official - surreptitious look at the Saab 9-4X
Now Cadillac SRX official, in just the right time for Detroit salon. The car itself may not be as interesting from the American point of view, but technically it is extremely interesting because it shares most of the Saab 9-4X.
New Cadillac SRX, we have seen earlier in the form of Provoq Concept. This was in Detroit salon last year when we got to see the concept Saab 9-4X BioPower.
New SRX relieving the current model which has existed since 2004. A model that looks more like a heightened kombibil than new SRX, which is a pure crossover, just as the 9-4X.
Provoq concept contained the same E-Flex-drivelines as the upcoming Chevrolet Volt, but really fun, it is not in reality. The 483 centimeter-long crossover arm instead of two different V6 engines, both refined and examined for the better once the cultural and lower consumption. One is the three-liter direct and may be classified as basmotor. It is based on the 3.6-liter engine that sits in the CTS. 262 hp comes at 6 950 r / min and torque is 300 Newton meters at 5 600 r / min. This engine is also adapted to run on gasoline or ethanol (E85).
The other engine is a V6, but with 2.8-liter volume and turbo been the sporty alternative. The engine familiar figure when it is in including the Saab 9-3. The SRX delivers the 305 horsepower at 5 500 r / min and torque is 400 Newton meters at 1 850 r / min.
Both engines are linked to the sexstegade Hydra-Matic-automatic gearbox that is one of the reasons for the success in reducing consumption and emission figures. The force sent to either the front wheels or all four. It is the way that delivers Haldex four-wheel drive system, thus it is of the same type as we have already seen in the Saab 9-3 XWD. Cadillac SRX describes as a very safe car with a long list of safety features. Strong chassis structure will capture the most energy during a crash, then it is different interior system that may take over security. Among lateral curtains, front airbags, pedal systems that fold away, sensors detect a possible round-mending and preparing the car and the occupants, and much more. Cadillac has also been working hard to meet the tough European requirements of protection against pedestrians.
New Cadillac SRX starts manufactured in the second quarter of this year, and sales begin shortly thereafter.
