BMW and VW are both continuing to try to expand and know US market. WSJ had article today about how they are trying to take advantage of current domestic weakness to position themselves for future growth and market share in US.

SAAB makes no real sense in VW line up. However, it could complement BMW as their lower priced FWD performance line. They might be the one company that could make something of Saab and that has the potential to understand the Saab market and how to connect with the potential customer base.

At a fire sale prices, perhaps consisting in large part of future consider depending on return, they might bite too. I really think this is the best possible outcome for the future of Saab.
