Well 4 months is a bit short if you are using regular bulbs. It is normal for the high performance bulbs such as Silver Stars. Standard bulbs will last about a year with the DRLs on, or they did for me (2000 Aero Sedan). I have since had the headlights reprogrammed to the European standards so my DRLs are the "city lights" which is the small 9 watt bulb in the headlight housing. My current headlight bulbs have been going for 7 years or so as I only use them at night. I left the DRL fuse (No. 35 I think for my beast) in after having the headlights reset so I still have DRLs.
Your options: 1) Keep changing bulbs; 2) pull out the DRL fuse (not an option in Canada; 3) have the headlight reprogrammed to the Euro setting and use the city lights for your DRLs (have your service provider reset the headlights using a Tech II from Option 3 (USA/Canada) to Option 1 (Europe and most of the rest of the world) possibly not an option is Canada either).
If you go with no. 3 you might want to have the fog lights set to Option 1 too so they will work with the city lights (middle position) and the high beams. (It is not legal in the US to have more then 4 bulb that project light on the front of a car - which is why the fogs don't work with the high beams in the US, but I doubt you will have any trouble using them.)
