It's always somethin! - P1230 Posted by Dano in Texas [Email] (#1125) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Dano in Texas) on Wed, 21 Jan 2009 05:25:08 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
2004 Aero wagon, 60,000 miles. Just had my 60K service done a few weeks ago. Driving home from dinner last night when there was a slight thump or pop under the hood and the CEL came on. I thought at first the new fan belt had broke. Luckily we were less than 1/2 mile from home so continued and monitored temp gauge. Car stalled when I slowed to turn. Started right up and I made it home. Pulled a P1230 code using my scanner.
I plan on disassembling to look inside the throttle body for gunk. Should I just go ahead and order a new throttle body? Try to clean the old one if dirty and reset the limp home? I searched some of the posts here and they seem to suggest trying to clean and reset before ordering a new/rebuilt one. Does that seem to be the consensus?
