Quick oil change stores and Saabs don’t mix. I found that out the hard way when I was still driving my 93. I took it into a national chain oil change place only to have the threads on my oil pan stripped by the “technician” who attempted to put some kind of sealant around the plug to cover up the problem. After it started leaking the next day, I took it back and was given another band aid sealant fix. Long story short, I ended up with a new oil pan courtesy of the oil change place after they tried to rethread the drain plug hole and cracked the pan. I should have paid attention to the sign on the wall that said only managers are allowed to work on Saabs, BMW’s, and VW’s. Most of their brilliant employees just aren’t qualified to work on aluminum oil pans.
