Hard to say if he is up to date and maybe know something that we all will soon find out or if he maybe is out of date and is mixing up info about the different PCV modifications that has been installed through the years.

One of the "fixes" included routing the small vacuum hose to the oil filler pipe and than a later bulletin said to reroute that hose back to the original position on valve cover if engine had high oil consumption and await for another PCV fix which would later be known as PCV #6.

If you have read ALL posts about ALL PCV fixes through the years, you will find lots of people happy with the different fixes and people unhappy or neutral about them also.

These engines has so many quirks that one PCV fix cures some of them and makes others worse and than another fix cures the others but makes the first revert back to problems.

A bold guess is that NO ONE knows a cure (including Saab)or at least they won't tell what the real solution would be.
