Need tips on 2006 9-5 wagon purchase

I have been driving a 2000 9-3 base auto for 5 years. It came certified and I used that warranty well - new turbo and desludging along with a few small items here and there. At 97K, I know the car inside and out and understand the maintenance needs well.
The family is enlarging. I've found a 2006 9-5 auto wagon with the sport package nearby for $16K at 30K miles. It's not certified but has 1 year of factory warranty remaining. Given my prior experience with significant repairs on a 9-3, I'm a little hesitant to not get the certification, but this price is tough to pass up. Any thoughts on known issues I should expect as a never-ever 9-5 owner? I already only do full synthetic oil so I'm used to that, and plan to do the 30K interval maintenance as recommended. Also, does the lowered suspension cause problems with city or winter driving?
It's likely between a 9-5 wagon, an XC70 and a Passat wagon but a used 9-5 seems to offer the most for my money right now.
