2004 Aero 60,000 miles - When the limp home mode fired I got the CEL. The only code I scanned was P1230. For my model year, the check engine icon is orange and looks like the side profile of an engine. Check your owners manual it should be pictured there.
My limp-home-mode triggered at about 45 MPH and the car just kept running. However when I stopped to turn the engine died - unable to idle properly. Since my LHM activated just around the corner from my house i didn't push the performance so can't say how RPMs are affected but should be discussed in the owners manual. Since your car is a 2000LPT and has a different design throttle body than my 2004 I can't say my experiences will be the same as yours. My car is running great after installing the new TB and it was a piece of cake to install myself. Good luck.
BTW, I recommend buying a CanOBD2 scanner. They are cheap and easy to use. It will pay for itself the first time you self diagnose a DIC or TB problem.
