I have read about the orange relay on this bb for many years. Can anyone guess at the failure rate? Is this a part that would be cost effective to have on hand? Since we own two 9-5s (2003 and 2005) and the part is under $70 at eeuroparts, would it make sense to purchase one in advance? So far I have had to replace the DIC and heater bypass on both vehicles and the throttle body on one. It seems the problems I read about here regularly come to pass on our cars except sludge so far. I am eternally grateful for the great advice and how-to information here. Surprisingly, I think our 9-5s are the most reliable, comfortable, sporty and fuel efficient (for the performance) vehicles we have ever owned. Our cars have never stranded us out on the road yet as all failures have occurred close by and we were able to make it home.
