Connecting Rod Bearings, Glyco brand good enough? Posted by Savary [Email] (#1273) [Profile/Gallery] (more from Savary) on Tue, 17 Feb 2009 08:59:59 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
After reading the boards, sounds like Glyco bearings don’t have the longevity as the Saab original tri-metal Vandervall. I hear the tri-metal bearings were discontinued by SAAB with the loss of Vandervell OEM.
Are the Vandervell bearings available anywhere, or is there an acceptable substitute? Clevite 77 bearings? The usual saab parts stores just have the German Glyco bearings.
I’m replacing a piston in my engine & thought I’d replace the rod bearings. Or should I re-use the originals. Have 90,000 miles on the engine.
Thanks
