Real world treadlife of Michelin Pilot Exalto A/S ??? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Sat, 28 Feb 2009 14:42:47 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
It will be tire time again in a couple weeks when I remove the snows from my car. I have a spreadsheet of 7 different tire choices based on local availability in 225/50R16 size, either H or V rated, for my base level 9-5.
Near mid-point on the price scale is my current tire; Cooper Zeon Sport A/S. Other than short (in my opinion) treadlife of 30,000 miles, with increasing noise after 20K miles, they seem to do everything well.
At the high end of the price scale is the Pilot Exalto. My wife is concerned I may be penney wise and pound foolish by buying less expensive tires with my 27K miles/year driving (~20K annually on the A/S tires, the rest on my winter tires)
So without opening this up into a full scale tire debate, what is a reasonable life expectancy for the Exaltos? My driving style is moderate, my miles are mostly expressway, and my car has 242K+ miles (another wrinkle).
Thanks,
