As posted many months ago, simply removing the battery from the module will solve the unwanted alarm sounding and restore the system functioning to almost "new" condition. Two features will not be the same. First, the "service alarm battery" message will display. This can be reset with a Tech II. Second, as I understand it, if someone tries to steal the car by first removing the 12v car battery, the alarm will not sound(that was the purpose of the small battery on the motherboard). Since,I deemed this unlikelywith our two 2001 9.5 SW's I removed the battery and assumed this risk. Problem has not reoccured for 18 months and 25K miles.
