Anyone using a GenuineSaab downpipe with a SAAB/Remus? Posted by MI-Roger [Email] (#882) [Profile/Gallery] (more from MI-Roger) on Wed, 11 Mar 2009 16:21:22 Members do not see ads below this line. - Help Keep This Site Online - Signup |
I have a SAAB/Remus exhaust installed on my 9-5 and I am hearing a new (and loud) exhaust rumble from under the car. I haven't crawled under the car yet to take a look due to other tasks on my list, but I suspect one of the original exhaust system flex joints has finally failed after 9 years and nearly 250K miles.
Since a 3-inch down pipe is less expensive than the factory replacement part I will probably HAVE to buy one of those. Oh darn! Will the GS 3-inch downpipe fit up with the SAAB/Remus exhaust since it is neither stock diameter or 3-inch diameter.
The car has also started to drive as if the converter is plugged (I had this happen on a '92 Chevy Berretta) so the downpipe will be doubly effective - if it fits to the exhaust. I "borrowed" an exhaust back-pressure gage from GS nearly two years ago and it read close to the maximum recommended back-pressure at that time.
Thanks,
