I'm glad nobody was hurt. yeah I never said NYers were saints behind the wheels, far from it!! But for all the stuff that happens especially around NYC (having driven there for 4 years I got used to driving with the left foot on the brake jsut to be ready!) I was surprised to see so many people taking chances with left turns right in front of me like I described when I moved here in 2005.
I am EXTREMELY careful pulling up to a red light left turn lane because the people making left turns from my right will cut the corner early, hence my "try to get all four wheels left of the double yellow line" remark.... I am *not* kidding, but maybe that's a Delaware county thing?
Heck, more than once I was almost hit while at the stop line in the RIGHT lane of a four lane road by someone cutting the left turn extremely early. that's not a NY thing, sorry my friend :) thank goodness the street i live on has a median at the nearest red light!
I am glad everyone was okay, we all need to be reminded every so often to drive safer no matter what. Hope you can get your Saab back together too.
